How to remove your info from USSearch

ussearch_20160902About USSearch:

USSearch allows you to search for information by name, phone number or address.  They provide results with the past and present address, phone numbers, household members, home values, criminal checks and more.

Overview of the information removal process:

USSearch only allows you to lock your information and make it “non-public” through their service if you use their “PrivacyLock” service. USSearch had previously charged for the PrivacyLock service, but has since decided that they would offer it for free and they are refunding the fees previously collected for the service. As mentioned on their website, using privacy lock will help to ensure that your information does not show in the results of other sites that use USSearch data.  PrivacyLock does not guarantee that your information will be completely removed as different spellings of your name and mentions of you in the profiles of information about other people such as you being referenced as a “Household member”, will still result in your information being shown.

How to remove your information:

Follow these steps to remove your info from USSearch:

  1. Find the record to be blocked by using their PrivacyLock search form at
  2. Once your record is found, you will be directed to a page with a link to a file to a cover sheet that you must download.
  3. You must then make a copy of a state-issued ID card or driver’s license matching the name on the record you wish to remove from their system.  You may cross out the photo and driver’s license number.
  4. You can then send the cover sheet and copy of the state-issued ID Card or Driver’s license to the mailing address below:

US Search – PrivacyLock
PO BOX 4145
Bellevue, WA 98009-4145

Complete steps 1-3 above and fax the cover sheet and copy of the state-issued ID Card or Driver’s license to the following fax number: (425) 974-6242

*If you are unable to print the cover sheet which includes your record number, they do provide the record number and request that you include the record number with the copy of your state-issued ID Card or Driver’s license

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have to pay to remove your information?

How long does it take for the information to be removed?

Within 7 to 14 days of receipt of proof of identity.

Will your information reappear after requesting to remove it?

As with many of the other services, USSearch relies on other partners to obtain the data they show in their system.  If your personal information is connected to other spellings of your name, new phone numbers, new addresses, etc.., it may reappear in their system.  It would be in your best interest to revisit their website at a later date to ensure that you do not have to remove your information again.
